Cable & Wire Drying

The removal of the residual moisture film from insulated wire/cable and extruded products has been difficult to achieve effectively and consistently.

ACI's new ‘LINE-Dry' System solves this problem whilst also saving energy and reducing running costs when compared to compressed air nozzle arrangements and other existing blower-driven devices.

cable and wire dryersWhen compared to compressed air systems up to 10 fold energy savings can be achieved which potentially equates to savings of £1000s per annum.
   • The blower supplied is ACI's variable speed ‘Multi-Stage' unit (Standard 2.3kW, 240V, 3Ph unit. 110V supply available) controlled via a speed controller. This gives flexibility to accommodate different products and line speeds.
   • Two drying head options are available, one with the dryer heads enclosed to contain displaced moisture and the other is an open unit.
   • The supplied blower unit is mounted on legs and enclosed in an ABS plastic enclosure which prevents moisture ingress.
   • Air is delivered at up to 2.8psi (80in. SWG) at speeds of 8,800m/min (28,900ft/min) typically at 80 deg.C

Air Knife Systems

Air Knife Drying Systems are blower-driven solutions that will increase production efficiencies and save significant running costs.

Powered by a centrifugal blower unit, an Air Knife System is a low-pressure, high-volume air production tool that has been designed specifically to blow-off all surface liquids and moisture that may be present on a conveyed product.

When compared to compressed-air-driven nozzle systems, Air Knife Systems are:
   • More cost effective to operate - operating costs are reduced by up to 90% potentially saving '000's per year
   • Quieter - due to lower pressure operation, the expansion ratio and turbulence of the air produced is reduced
   • Cleaner - the air from the blower is both dry and oil free so there are no additional filtration is required
   • Safer - ACI centrifugal blowers operate on the principle of high velocity, low pressure air which presents no danger to operators.

Air knives efficiently and effectively remove liquids, control the thickness of liquids, dry liquid coatings, remove foreign particles, cool product surfaces or create a hold down force to assist in the mechanical bonding of materials to the surface. In addition anti-static bars can also be fitted to the air stream to neutralise static electricity charge on some surfaces. Air knives are also used as the first step in a recycling process to separate lighter or smaller particles from other components.

JetBlack Clean-down

The JetBlackTM is an easy-to-use alternative to compressed air that offers employer's peace of mind, and users a completely safe solution for de-dusting.

Compressed air can be very dangerous, even fatal if misused, particularly if it comes into direct contact with bare skin. Installing an ACI JetBlackTM Personnel cleaning station allows all employees to safely ‘clean-down' without putting themselves into any danger.

The JetBlackTM is a simple, yet very effective tool, suitable for any manufacturing of production facility where employees need to quickly clean themselves down before going to the canteen or leaving work for the day.

 

Compressed air always has the potential to be extremely dangerous, so companies should always try and minimise its use, particularly for cleaning and
de-dusting operations.

In summary, the JetBlack's performance is:

Safer. The JetBlackTM produces high volume, low pressure air (2.52PSI/70In.Swg) which poses no threat to personal safety.
Lower noise emissions. With levels below 78dB(A) the JetBlackTM is typically quieter than most compressed air nozzle arrangements.
Cost effective. Blower powered air produced by the JetBlackTM typically costs less than 10% of the equivalent compressed air generation.
